"Quick Draw McGraw"
(Warner Home Video, 1989)
A refugee from the Huckleberry Hound and Yogi Bear shows, Quick Draw McGraw was an inept western hero -- a cartoon horse, by the way -- who blundered about and usually solved crimes by accident. The character was deliciously performed by veteran cartoon voice actor Daws Butler (who also did some fun stuff with comedian Stan Freberg). Quick Draw's sidekick, a tiny burro named Baba Looey, is a somewhat stereotyped Latin American character, but as with the Yogi Bear setup, it's the sidekick who has the smarts and the hero who's a dope, so the potentially offensive characterization is somewhat mitigated. I remember really enjoying these classic Hanna Barbara cartoons when I was little, but by the time I remembered them as an adult, my kid was too old for them and besides, it's probably not really worth the brain cells.
